These past few weeks there has been a few deaths from the colonies. Dice was euthanized. Betty was found dead in her backyard. This can be difficult, but at least we know what happened to these cats. One of the hardest things for a feral cat colony caregiver to deal with is the “unknown.”… Read more »
New cat sighting! Thankfully, these guys are indoors. They were pretty fascinated with me and smelling the air outside. It’s hard to keep track of the cats outside, and so many people here have in/out pet cats to add to the confusion. But these felines are staying put indoors. They just wanted to… Read more »

Just because I’m out of town doesn’t mean I stop thinking about the cats. Jim totally understands this, and accepts it for the most part. At this point he gives me updates without me even asking first. These past few weeks have been full of updates from him: “The Feral Villa has arrived.” Which means he… Read more »
After a week in Mexico I was pleasantly surprised to find summer is still here in Chicago. The leaves are turning colors, but the feral flowers are in full bloom. The cats in my yard were regularly fed while we were away, but I think they noticed we were gone. The garden path was… Read more »
